FES FILM FESTIVAL April 2026

🎬 FES FILM FESTIVAL

1st – 30th April 2026

This April, film comes to you.

The FES Film Festival is touring across rural and community locations throughout the UK, bringing powerful independent cinema to local audiences in a unique month-long celebration of storytelling.

Screening throughout Devon, Dorset, Cornwall, Wiltshire, Somerset and Hampshire — and expanding to new areas nationwide — this festival with a difference connects audiences outside traditional cinema spaces with bold, original filmmaking.

The programme features a compelling collection of short films by award-winning creatives including Alice D Cooper and Carol Younghusband — from enchanting coming-of-age tales and layered psychological thrillers to intimate reflections on belonging and identity.

Headlining the festival is the inspiring feature documentary The Banjo Boys (Dir. Johan Nayar), following two Malawian street musicians whose chance meeting with a British traveller propels them from the streets of Lilongwe to international stages across Europe and the US. A joyful, moving story about resilience, friendship and the transformative power of music.

Expect an evening of diverse storytelling, conversation and connection — right on your doorstep.
